Birthday charter FAQ
How many guests can we bring?
Zabava takes up to 20 guests. For bigger lists, Kirralee holds up to 30 and John Oxley up to 52.
What’s included in the charter price?
Your charter includes the boat, an experienced skipper and crew, and full use of Zabava’s fridge, freezer, eskies and BBQ for the length of your booking. Food, drinks, cake and decorations are yours to bring or arrange.
Can we bring our own food, drinks and decorations?
Yes — charters are BYO or catered. Bring your own food and drinks, or arrange catering, and use Zabava’s fridge, freezer, eskies and BBQ on board. Bring your own cake and decorations too; the crew will help you set up.
Where does the boat pick us up?
We offer flexible pick-up and drop-off across central Sydney Harbour wharves, so you can choose what’s easiest for your guests.
How far in advance should we book?
Weekends and summer dates go first, so lock in your date as soon as you’ve got a headcount — especially for big milestone birthdays.
What if the weather isn’t great on the day?
Sydney Harbour is sheltered and charters run in most conditions. If it’s genuinely unsafe to sail, our crew will work with you on rescheduling.
Do you host 18th and 21st birthdays?
We happily host groups in their 20s. 18ths and 21sts are assessed on a case-by-case basis at the time of booking — get in touch and we can talk it through.
What’s your deposit and cancellation policy?
A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking, and cancellations need at least 28 days’ notice from your charter date. We’ll send the full terms and conditions by email before your booking is confirmed.
Is there a bathroom on board?
Yes — all our vessels have a bathroom on board.
